Minister Bushati paid an official visit to the Republic of Argentina

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati paid an official visit to the Republic of Argentina, where he held separate meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cults Hector Marcos Timerman, the Vice President and President of the Senate Amado Boudou, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Argentine Chamber of Deputies Guillermo Carmona and the Albanian diaspora.

During the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Minister Bushati praised the good level of relations between the two countries and encouraged the further enhancement of economic cooperation, especially in the field of trade, renewable energy, agriculture and tourism.

Parties discussed the latest developments in their respective regions and focused on multilateral cooperation, mainly in the framework of international organizations such as the UN Council of Human Rights, where both countries are members. Moreover, they discussed the resolutions adopted at the Council of Human Rights, respectively that “On the fight against Violent Extremism" and "On the death penalty", as two resolutions supported by Argentina and Albania at the HRC.

Minister Bushati asked his counterpart Timerman to undertake the necessary steps that will allow Kosovo's participation in international organizations. Both Ministers commended the valuable role of the diaspora in this country, as an active participant in the democratic life of Argentina and an important bridge for the institutionalization and strengthening of relations between our two countries.
At the meeting with Vice President and President of the Senate Amado Boudou, interlocutors praised the traditional and friendly relations between the two peoples, considering this visit as an important step in further strengthening relations between the two countries. Minister Bushati underlined the importance of boosting economic cooperation between our countries in the future by identifying areas of mutual interest and concrete bilateral cooperation. Parties expressed confidence that the intensification of parliamentary exchanges will serve the strengthening of comprehensive relations between Albania and Argentina.

During his stay in Buenos Aires, Minister Bushati held a meeting with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Argentine Chamber of Deputies, Guillermo Carmona. During the meeting, parties discussed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, the intensification of political dialogue and the role of parliamentary diplomacy as an important instrument for future cooperation. Chairman Caramona expressed his commitment for the establishment of the Albania-Argentina group of friendship at the Argentine Chamber of Deputies, which will enable the further enhancement of parliamentary cooperation.
At the end of his visit to Argentina, Minister Bushati held a special meeting with a group of representatives from the Albanian diaspora in Argentina, as one of the oldest Albanian Diasporas in the world. He commended them for preserving the language and culture and donated several copies of the Albanian ABC Book for the community needs in promoting and preserving the Albanian language from one generation to another.

Furthermore, Minister Bushati invited them, as one of the oldest Diasporas in the world, to participate in the Diaspora Summit which will be held in Tirana at the beginning of next year.
