The 14th anniversary of Kosovo's independence

This February 17, in Budapest we had two reasons to celebrate, the 14th anniversary of Kosovo's declaration of independence and the handover of the diplomatic credentials of H.E. Mrs. Gjeneza Budima as the new Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Hungary. In a cordial meeting of the staff of the two embassies, Mr. Viliem Kurtulaj, Chargé d'Affaires, a.i., made his congratulations on the Independence Day to the Embassy of Kosovo, and also wished to Mrs. Budima successes and good luck in her new mission.

The annual ceremony with the heads of the diplomatic corps accredited in Hungary

Mr. Viliem Kurtulaj, Chargé d'Affaires, a.i., met with Hungarian President H.E. Mr. János Áder during the annual ceremony with the heads of the diplomatic corps accredited in Hungary. Mr. Kurtulaj thanked President Áder for his cooperative and promoting role in Albania-Hungary relations and expressed the willingness of the Albanian side for this cooperation to be further deepened in the future.

Commemoration of the Albanian national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg

On the 554 anniversary of the death of our national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu, Mr. Viliem Kurtulaj, Chargé d'Affaires, a.i. and the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Hungary H.E. Mrs. Gjeneza Budima, laid wreaths on the bust of Skanderbeg in the city park of Budapest.

Meeting of the diplomatic corps in Hungary

Mr. Viliem Kurtulaj, Charge d'Affaires a.i., attended the meeting of the heads of diplomatic missions in Budapest. In addition to discussing issues related to the diplomatic corps accredited in Hungary, one of the purpose of this annual meeting is to intensify diplomatic relations between the participating countries.

Celebration of Independency Day with Albanian students in Hungary

The Albanian Embassy in Budapest decided that November 28 of Gjergj Kastrioti, Ismail Qemali, and Adem Jashari, be dedicated to Albanian youth and students in Hungary. In a special reception organized at the Embassy premises on the occasion of the 109th anniversary of the declaration of independence, Mr. Viliem Kurtulaj, Charge d'Affaires, a.i., welcomed the Albanian students and thanked them for being the best representers of the Albanian nation in the world.

3rd Session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation between Albania and Hungary

On 15-16 November 2021, the 3rd Session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation between Albania and Hungary took place in Budapest. The session concluded with the signing of the Protocol by the heads of the two delegations. From the Albanian side, the Protocol was signed by Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy, Mr. Besart Kadia, and from the Hungarian side by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr. Peter Andras Sztàray.

Dear friends, In the last five years I have had the honor and privilege to represent Albania as its Ambassador to Hungary. At the end of my term, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all those who have supported me in this task, who have shared with me the workload and the joy for the results achieved. Like my predecessors, I have tried to cast a stone in the great wall of Albanian-Hungarian relations.

Ambassador Spasse is awarded with the Commander’s Cross with a Star of the Order of Merit

The President of Hungary, Mr. János Áder, on the proposal of Minister Péter Szijjártó, awarded the Ambassador of Albania in Budapest, Mr. Arian Spasse, with the Commander’s Cross with a Star of the Order of Merit for his contribution to the strengthening of Albanian-Hungarian relations. While presenting the Order of Merit, the Secretary of State for Security Policy, Mr. Péter Sztáray, noted that "during the tenure of Ambassador Spasse, Hungarian-Albanian bilateral relations received a new impetus, as evidenced by several high-level official visits."
